I would repeat it a thousand times, and a thousand times with iGin

When at 35 you are told that, unfortunately and without reason, you belong to the 1% of women who go through premature menopause before the age of 40 and that the chances of getting pregnant with your eggs are the same as winning the lottery… your world collapses on you.

At that moment I felt old and “different”, I was facing an inner storm, as if you discovered that you had an incurable disease. But I gradually accepted it until I decided to face it because I consider myself a strong, committed and courageous woman. And because I wanted to be sure that I had done everything possible, for myself and for the man in my life, before giving up on the dream of being a mother.

We started to look into assisted reproduction, with a huge offer of clinics and diverse opinions. But in many of the blogs we consulted, positive reviews of iGin, a clinic in Bilbao, were repeated.

So I contacted them. I was delighted to be guaranteed two attempts (money is important and we all have to stick to a budget), and we also found it very positive that iGin takes all the embryos obtained to the embryonic stage. blastocisto (pocas clínicas lo garantizan).

After the first online consultation we were already convinced. The team was friendly and answered all our questions (we had a lot of them). They were clear and helpful. We put ourselves completely in their hands.

They prescribed me very specific new tests, which they had never asked me to do in my previous attempts in Italy, which for me demonstrated their great competence and experience in the field of assisted reproduction.

In the end we opted for the ovodonación y dimos con una donante muy buena. Pudimos obtener cuatro embriones.

Five months later, I returned to Bilbao in December 2019. After these visits, I know the city quite well, but I can’t get the idea out of my head that «it’s going to go wrong again because I’m unlucky.» But the truth is that that attempt was the most beautiful one: thanks to it, we became parents of a beautiful and healthy girl.

I can never thank iGin enough for the kindness and sensitivity they have shown in a situation as delicate as ours. I still remember, in that last lucky attempt, that gesture of encouragement that the doctor had just before the transfer. And to Erika and Nicolás, (my contacts from the International Department at iGin) unique, empathetic, present both in the clinic and in the countless emails and phone calls… they always made me feel accompanied.

It takes courage, strength, confidence and dedication, it is certainly not an easy path… but it all makes up for that gift in the form of a smile that makes us melt every morning. I would repeat it a thousand times, and all of them with iGin.

Laura.
